Super Agers: How Madam Wong Lin Yan Lives with Hearing Loss

Did you know that hearing well is a crucial part of living life to the fullest in your 90s?

At The Listening Lab, we believe that good hearing plays a vital role in healthy aging, helping people maintain independence, mental sharpness, and meaningful connections while living with age-related hearing loss. That’s why we are proud to feature our Super Agers – individuals in their 90s who continue to thrive, stay active, and embrace each day with purpose.

Staying Connected

Meet our first Super Ager feature, Madam Wong Lin Yan, a spirited 94-year-old Singaporean who uses Signia hearing aids from The Listening Lab. Her story is a beautiful reminder that better hearing is not just about sound – it’s about staying connected to the people and moments that matter most.

“Good hearing keeps me close to the people I love and that makes growing older feel full of life,” says Madam Wong.

Living Large as Life

Originally from Hong Kong, Madam Wong Lin Yan brings lightness and humour to growing older and living with hearing loss.

She keeps her days vibrant with her favourite routines – watching TV, flipping through Chinese magazines, and doing simple hand and leg exercises. Her go-to-treat? McDonald’s French Fries every weekend, a small joy she never misses.

For Madam Wong, better hearing means more than just catching words – it means capturing life’s small pleasures. Whether it’s sharing laughs over fries or chatting with loved ones, it’s the ability to stay present that makes her days truly satisfying.

If you or a loved one could benefit from rediscovering the joy of clear conversations and staying connected, consider scheduling an elderly hearing aid fitting with our experienced audiologists at The Listening Lab.
