Ultimate Guide to Choosing Hearing Aid Brands to Improve Hearing

best hearing aid brands singapore

Hearing loss affects one’s quality of life in a variety of ways. From communication problems, social withdrawal, and emotional problems to an increased risk of dementia as one gets older.

This is where hearing loss mitigation comes into play to keep the negative effects from escalating, and one of the common methods is through the use of hearing aids. Hearing aids can help to amplify sounds, allowing people with hearing loss to improve their ability to detect, identify, discriminate and understand sounds.

If you or a loved one suffers from hearing loss, choosing hearing aids from reputable brands should be your top priority. This allows you or your loved one to live a better life with better hearing.

Let’s find out what the best hearing aids are in the 2024 market with a quality comparison of various hearing aid brands, and learn how to choose a hearing aid that is right for you as you continue reading this article.

Please note that this information is intended to be educational and does not constitute medical advice. While hearing aids can significantly improve your hearing, individual results may vary depending on the severity of your hearing loss, lifestyle, and overall health. Consulting a licensed hearing professional is crucial to determine the best solution for your specific needs.

Why Choosing the Best Hearing Aids Matters

There are many types of hearing aids offered by numerous brands. You need to carefully choose a pair with features that are modern and more advanced than older models, as they are intended to be used regularly. Quality standards should not be something to compromise when it comes to hearing aids.

That is why it is crucial to pick hearing aids that best fit your needs. Consider factors like your hearing loss degree, lifestyle, and personal preferences before making your decision, as a suitable hearing aid can potentially improve your quality of life.

Other factors to consider are the features offered by the hearing aids. They may include Bluetooth connectivity, rechargeable battery, water resistance, and more. By considering these factors, you can be confident that your hearing aids will be comfortable to use.

Ultimately, hearing aids are very personal and each person will benefit from different types. Choosing one after comparing hearing aid brands in Singapore can generally help you better engage with the world around you and improve your overall well-being.

Hearing Aid Brands Overview

Some hearing aid brands may not be the best as many of them prioritise low cost over producing a well-made product. This will undoubtedly be a waste of an investment, especially with hearing aids that are worn regularly.

That is a part of our concern, hence why we only trust reputable brands, proven to provide the best hearing aid quality. For those who wonder what the top brands of hearing aids are, they include Bernafon, Widex, Signia, and Phonak. You can find them at various hearing aid centres, such as Listening Lab.

To ensure a personalised approach, a consultation with a licensed hearing professional is highly recommended.

Best for Tinnitus Treatment: Widex Moment Sheer

Tinnitus, a condition characterised by frequent ringing or buzzing in the ears, affects millions of people worldwide. While there is no known cure for tinnitus, the use of hearing aids may aid in the management of symptoms and make hearing more comfortable.

In this case, we highly recommend you go with the Moment Sheer from Widex brand. This hearing aid type includes Widex Zen Therapy (WZT) that contains a relaxing sound background for those suffering from tinnitus.

With the relaxing sound background from Widex Zen Therapy (WZT), those suffering from tinnitus can potentially enjoy hearing with less annoyance from the frequent in-ear ringing or buzzing. As a result, hearing is much more bearable and comfortable.

Best for Severe to Profound Hearing Loss: Signia Motion Charge and Go X

For individuals with severe to profound hearing loss, finding the right hearing aid is critical. This is because they may need to regularly use their hearing aids to engage in daily activities, which is why a pair of comfortable and convenient hearing aids is required.

In this case, Motion Charge and Go X may be suitable. It is equipped with high sound amplification and an acoustic motion sensor, giving a natural hearing experience and allowing you to hear better in every move.

Signia Motion Charge and Go X is equipped with automatic situation detection. This technology may help the wearers to identify different sounds even in challenging noisy environments.

Lastly, this type of hearing aid is equipped with top-in-class water resistance and a long-lasting rechargeable battery. People with profound hearing loss can then lead more independent lives as they can hear better during any activities they engage in.

Best for Mild to Moderate Hearing Loss: Signia Active Pro

Individuals with mild to moderate hearing loss are best suited to hearing aids with lower amplification power. If you have this condition, your ears can still be able to capture sounds, though the sounds may not always be clear.

For this case, we suggest you choose Signia Active Pro. It is equipped with a lower amplification power, which enhances sound clarity while maintaining a comfortable listening experience.

Additionally, Signia Active Pro also comes with a long-lasting rechargeable battery. Choosing a pair of these hearing aids allows you to engage in an active lifestyle without worrying about their hearing aids running out of power.

Besides providing sounds, Phonak Audéo Lumity is also versatile. It is the first brand that offers waterproof hearing aids to support wearers in all kinds of activities without worrying about the pair getting water damaged.

Most Natural Sounds: Signia Pure Charge and Go AX

When you suffer from severe hearing loss, you may be preconditioned to believe that hearing aids will regain your hearing. While it is not completely false, choosing hearing aids may help you hear better, but it should not just merely be able to hear.

It has a strong sound amplification power and is equipped with augmented speech understanding, assisting the wearers to hear their surroundings with more clarity.

What’s more, Signia Pure Charge and Go AX comes up with immersive soundscape capability. It creates a rich soundscape that enhances your overall listening experience.

JonathanPo-Testimonial
I started experiencing loss of hearing sometimes in 2010 (41 years old) owing to some medical issue. I was having difficulties hearing conservation especially in meeting. Thus, giving me the fear in attending meeting.

Initially I started with Phonak hearing aid. It helps amplified the sound and I could hear better then. Somehow, my hearing loss deteriorated further that in late 2012 (43 years old), there was profound loss of hearing on my right ear. Even digital hearing aid could not help. On my left ear there is still about 50% to 60% hearing with hearing aid. I was lost at this point of time. I was considering learning sign language. I went to see my ENT specialist and my audiologist Mr. Bala advised me to go for an CI as an alternative to my hearing loss.

I also thank God for Engineer and Scientist, giving them the knowledge to create such a complex and sophisticate device to help those with hearing loss like me. It will be all perfect if the cost is affordable too.

TitusPang-Testimonial
Titus was implanted when he was 18 months old. He is a happy, talkative 6.5 years old now. AB has been with him for 5 wonderful hearing years and we are looking forward to a bright future that lies ahead for him. AB’s Naída CI sound processors are reliable and the technology is constantly evolving and upgrading. When Titus was introduced to Naida Link CROS, his life was enriched. The wireless network established between his Naida CI sound processor and a Naida Link CROS transmitter allows him to hear from both ears. This changes Titus’s life and the way we interact with him. We are also very pleased with the prompt response and service provided to us. The staff in AB genuinely cares! We want to thank AB for making Titus’s hearing journey an enjoyable and a relatively stress free one!

I have been living with progressive hearing loss for more than three decades. Socially, I find myself fearful of communicating with people and at home, watching 'soundless' television programs is a norm.

An unforgettable experience. Trying on a pair of Resound GN hearing aid, I was energized and revitalized and overwhelmed with emotional tears of joy. The Resound GN is truly remarkable and uniquely equipped with three-friendly-user environmental modes that provide hearing comfort wherever we are.

In particular, I like to extend my utmost gratitude to Hearing Consultant. With her profound compassion and wisdom in guiding me, I am confident that I can forge a formidable partnership with the Listening Lab; So that I can rebuild a new chapter of a happy and value-creative life and simultaneously, leaving behind the painful memories of the past three decades.
